Test 5B - Technique IV : Simulation of the CAP-Technique
New Model of Portable Prototype of IHLM
- ECHO is primed = 53 seconds.
- Diaphragm Pump is switched on.
- At the 8th second the arterial line is connected to the femoral artery. Perfusate containing a calculated volume of H2O2 enters the patient's arterial circulation with immediate HbO2 formation and Tissular Oxygenation.
- At the 33rd second (at a flow rate of 2.5 litres per minute the blood volume of the patient has increased by 1 litre), the venous line is connected to the femoral catheter.
- The clamp on the femoral catheter is released.
- At the 34th second "CPB" is established.
Note : 3 most unfortunate events occured in Test 5B.
(1) The Diaphragm Pump stops working during the test ; this DP was changed and the experiment continued.
(2) There was a leakage from the HALS which was subsequently controlled.
(3) The battery of the I-STAT machine of Jeetoo's Hospital was at low level ; the machine itself needs recalibration.
